All cases will have an initial screening to assess them for merit or lack
thereof. This process can normally be done in five hours or less, and then
a verbal report may be issued. It will be noted with the verbal report
exactly which documents were reviewed, and if additional documentation or
records are required to make a complete assessment. A written report may be
issued upon request, and may be as comprehensive as you require, but a
comprehensive report will
often require additional time. A comprehensive written report is very
effective in dictating out a timeline of events that make it easy to show where
and how duty, breech of duty, causation and damages occurred.
Key Benefits
One of the most important benefits I can offer is to be objective. My work
will outline facts and merits as they appear through information reviewed and
applied to medical and nursing practice.
Ensure that all appropriate medical records, policies and procedures, laboratory and radiological
results, as well as medical billing have been requested and discovered to make
an informed screening decision. In cases of merit this screening will
often ensure all appropriate plaintiffs and defendants have been identified.
As an RN, I am very familiar with the inner workings of the healthcare
system, as well as patient care delivery systems. This familiarity aids
in being able to rapidly and accurately find the appropriate information in
medical records which will lead to an initial assessment of the case
having any merit.
Working for plaintiff or defense I am able to assess for the necessary elements in order prove or defend a medical malpractice case. I can assist with
similar services in personal injury cases as well, assessing for alleged
damages or injuries.
Assist with educating all members of the team regarding the mechanism,
degree and extent of injury as well as the recovery of the patient. I
can assist with identifying any future health care needs as well as short and
long term prognosis.
